I would not recommend disabling any components or plugins if you are unfamiliar on what they do, this may be the issue. Can you remember what you installed before it stared to slow down?

if you have installed something one the site excluding anything that came with Jooma, then if you no longer wish to use then yes i would recommend uninstalling it.

Depending on what changes you have made to the code of the site, will depend on if the upgrade causes issue to the site. I would always recommend making a backup using Akeeba or alternative so if the upgrade does cause a problem you have a way of restoring it.

hope this helps

looking at your source code you have a large number of scripts loading into the site? this ill add to the overhead for the site and could be causing the slow down.

As you have a blocker stopping visitors right clicking this is preventing a better diagnostic of the site.

regards
