Where to Fix Spelling Error in Search Results?
Hello,
I am using Joomla! v2.5.8 with a commercial template and Virtuemart v.2.0.18a.
When I enter a search term in the search box of my site, it returns the search results just fine. But on the page, there is a line that says "Search Only: and then presents 6 checkboxes for the following 6 categories one can search by:
Categories, Contacts, Articles, Newsfeeds, Weblinks, and Produkte.
This last one, "Produckte" is spelled wrong. It should be "Product."
Here is a link so you can see:
http://nanlewisjewelry.com/joomla/compo ... Itemid=214
I have been working with the template help forum for days and days trying to fix it and they finally determined that I should post in the VirtueMart Forum for help because it seems to not be their template problem.
I searched that forum and then asked the question there. They made one suggestion which did not work.
I am thinking this is a problem with the Joomla! core, not with VirtueMart or the template.
Can you please tell me where I can fix this misspelling? Such a simple thing has eaten up days of my time :-(
BTW - I am not a programmer, so I need specific directions as to where to find the file and what to write to fix it.
(sorry 'bout that.)
Thank you very much!

Did they suggest the override? If not, try that. Go to the Language Manager, click on the tab Overrides, create a new override for the language string that has the value "Produkte".

Yes, that is what they suggested and I tried to do that. But when I searched for the string with "Produkte" in it, it said "No matching texts found."
Anything else I can try?

English Language files are missing for a search plugin. It's probably Virtuemart.
Enable Debug and Language Debug for the site and inspect the list of loaded language files.

Hello Yngve - thank you.
I enabled Debug and Language Debug and am looking at the list of loaded language files, but I don't know what I'm looking for or what I'm supposed to do with this information. Could you please explain more?
I appreciate you time!

Re: Where to Fix Spelling Error in Search Results?
There are no non-english files loaded.
The only 2 files that say they were not loaded are:
**Not loaded** : JROOT/administrator/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_extplorer.sys.ini
**Not loaded** : JROOT/administrator/components/com_extplorer/language/en-GB/en-GB.com_extplorer.sys.ini
So, what would you suggest I do now?
Thank you!

If it's display without any markers, it means the text is hard coded in the component and not translatable.
You have to modify the component and replace the "Produkte" text with JText::sprintf('PRODUKTE') and add PRODUKTE='Products' to the language file.

Re: Where to Fix Spelling Error in Search Results?
Where do I do this? somewhere within the admin panel? Or do I need to go in with ftp and find a certain file?"You have to modify the component and replace the "Produkte" text with JText::sprintf('PRODUKTE') and add PRODUKTE='Products' to the language file."

Yes, you have to use ftp and a text editor.
You should report it to the developer.

So sorry to bother you again - but can you tell me exactly what file to change and where I would find it? I am not a programmer and am afraid to ruin the wrong file.

Somewhere under /plugins/search. I don't know which plugin you have installed.
