How to increase the username lenght?

Hello, my user name is the email.. but I need to increase the lenght.. how can I do it?

Hi, i said that i need to increase the lenght of the username...

the number of characters the person types, how can i increase that?

The possibilities I mentioned should also take care of the length issue for you.

The limit on the username field is set to 150 character limit within the database field type varchar(150). You can change this with phpMyAdmin to varchar(256). The email field is limited to varchar(100) and that can also be changed the same way. I have been unable to find anything else within the joomla code that restricts the character limits on those attributes, but to be fair I haven't looked very deep.
