Hi - I have two sites. The first is palazziflorence.com and the second fua.it - both are the same template, just changed out graphics and then content. Both are hosted on the same dedicated server with plenty of resources. Both have same versions of Joomla and extensions, only difference right now is sh404sef is running on FUA.IT and not on palazzi.

That being said, I already tested disabling sh404sef and it didn't make a difference.

Here is the problem. Hitting fua.it takes from 20-30 seconds to fully load the page sometimes. Running dev tools in chrome or safari and watching the network timeline, one can clearly see that fua.it sends the request and then waits anywhere from 10-14 seconds before a 200 OK is issued and the rest of the page starts loading.

This does not happen on palazziflorence.com - and yet again, both are identical in configuration. Since they share Apache and SQL on the same server, the server side of the equation is out of the troubleshooting process.

I am totally at a loss where to look. I have checked all the general settings, all the .htaccess rules, caching and so on - all are set the same way for their respective installation. And most of these settings would not impact that anyhow as the problem literally occurs on the first GET / http transaction. So content is not in question either.

Any advice is greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Hello Palazzi
what I find that ur site "fua" and "Palazzi" both hve large size of images "palazzi" has 2.5mb page size and "fua" has 1.6 mb try to optimize the images and also try to avoid the unusable javascript, both of ur sites have good loading time.
FUA : http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/zGHP6CpGL/http://fua.it

palazzi: http://tools.pingdom.com/fpt/#!/ezWdrSF ... orence.com

you can optimize more by using "smart optimizer" and joomla's compression frm global config screen.

Did you migrate this content from 1.5 to new version of Joomla?

No this was built on 1.7 and upgraded to 2.5. And Keshav, the two are identical. Yes I know there is a ton of content on there, I will look at the smart optimizer, but the fact remains that there is a difference in loading time between the two and that is making this goofy. It's that weird initial delay in loading - no idea why or how to troubleshoot.
