We have a Joomla 1.7 site in English and have had the site translated into Japanese and a few other languages, we are facing a problem with our translation when it is inputted into the editor (tinyMCE).

I've checked the DB settings and the db is set to UTF8 _general_ci

I've installed the Japanese language pack and have added the language using the content tab in the language manager.

When the translation is copied into the editor any html tags are stripped out, this means that all the content is essentially unformatted.

Any help would be appreciated!
Has anyone else come across this issue and how would I go about trying to sort it?

1. 1.7 is obsolete AND vulnerable. Update to 2.5.4.

2. When you say you copied the Translation, what do you mean? Copied from what?
If a text contains some html it has to be copied after toggling the editor.

It was copied from excel into dreamweaver and then formatted, the formatted code was then copied from dreamweaver and then pasted into the editor.

Thanks

Have you solved the issue by chnaging the editor's mode by toggling it?

When I toggle between the non code view and the code view the formatting stays, it's upon save where the problem occurs. Apologies I omitted that detail in the my opening post.

You have to make sure, after disabling cache, that Global Configuration=> Text Filters are set as should (and saved) for the user pasting the code.
