I have a site
http://www.alvarion.com
which has 2 languages set up - English and Spanish .
The language switcher is enabled and specific menus created for each language.

Some of the items in the menu entries are language specific and some are assigned to 'All'.

Overall, this works fine. However, for some odd reason, when using a menu entry of type article > category list, the list of articles itself ALWAYS displays the same language 'Spanish' - even if on the English language site.

I am at a loss here, since all the settings seems to be correct and the languages switch fine for all other regular article entries and 3rd party components.

Incidentally, this is with SEF turned on (Joomla standard SEF) - when I turn SEF off, the URL contains the correct language URL parameter and the articles are displayed correctly.

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am at a complete loss....

To see an example of this oddity in action, please do the following:

1. Go to http://www.alvarion.com and make sure the language switcher is set to 'International'
2. Browse over to the 'News Center' page on the main top navbar. So far so good
3. Run your mouse over the entries in the articles list and see how the URL has been modified to indicate the Spanish pages (the addition of '-sp' to the menu item alias.

Thanks again in advance for any assistance that can be given.
Gil

As the contents/title are the same for every item except the category name, It's hard to figure what's going on without looking at your back-end.

I suggest you look first at the tutorial and make sure your menus and structure fit.

Hi,
Thanks for the tip and link to tutorial.
I went back and checked all categories, articles and menu items for language discrepancies - and after making sure all was correct, it all started working well.

Thanks again
Gil
