Breadrumbs Problem on a Multilingual site

Post by MrJingles69 » Sat Aug 18, 2012 8:42 am

Hi,

I have a Joomla 2.5.6 multilingual website working absolutely perfectly except for the Breadcrumbs Module.

Here's the problem:

1. Breadcrumbs module - the option for "Show Home" set to Yes.
2. View a page in English and the breadcrumbs link to home does not go to the English home page but the default page for the All -Menu - which needs to be there as part of the multilingual set up.
3. View a page in Italian and the breadcrumbs link to home does not go to the Italian home page but the default page for the All -Menu.

I do not have the breadcrumbs displayed on the home page, but if I did then you get the double home issue - where the first home is a link to the default page for menu all and the second home is not a link.

I am aware that I could just set the Show Home option to NO and I wouldn't have any issues but I think the display is much better when this option is set to YES.

This looks as though this is a problem with the breadcrumbs module and was wondering if anyone was aware of it and if there is a fix (or an alternative extension) that is available.

Thanks for any help, Paddy

I can't reproduce the issue, as well as on the demo site

Are you using the default breadcrumbs module shipping with 2.5.6?
If, yes, try to create one instance of the module per content language

Hi,

Thanks for the follow-up. I am using the default module with 2.5.6 and I've also tried an English & Italian Breadcrumbs module - both with the same results.

I have a test site loaded with all the information and would be happy to provide you with temporary admin access so that you could take a look if that is easier?

I'm sure it may just be some simple thing I have overlooked and have been through all the steps on the link you gave me (and many more sites).

Any help would be greatly appreciated...

Kind regards, Paddy
