Hello.

I have recently immigrated a Joomla 1.5 to 2.5. I have gone through all the tutorials I can find for a multi language site and everything is working fine...

Except - I can not display a blog layout of articles.

When I take multi language off it works fine in English but with multi language on I cannot display a blog layout of articles.

If I display a list layout with subcategories it will show the amount of articles in the category but when I go to the category it says there is no articles to display.

I am pretty familiar with Joomla but no matter how what I do I can't get it to work.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Publish the admin module multilanguage status ( module Manager=> Filter by administrator).
It will certainly tell you that one or many of your contacts linked to a user should be set to Language "ALL" or one contact per language for the same user

Hello Jean-Marie.

Thanks for your message. I did have the multilanguage module enabled and I did have the falang language switcher enabled as well. I did however for testing enable another language switcher module set to All.

The rest of your post I do not understand and I can't related it to my issue with site not being able to post a Blog layout.

Any further help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

falang is a different solution from the native multilanguage functionnality. You can't mix them. Please ask on the falang forum topic.

If you were using the multilanguage core, then the usual issue with a blog/featured not displaying is with the contacts language.

I just installed FaLang as a test but will disable it as I would prefer to just use Joomla Core. However, it's been the same problem.

If you wouldn't mind giving me a little more detail on the user language you are talking about that would be great as I don't completely understand?

I went into my user profile and language is set to default.

Thanks!

I am speaking about the CONTACTS.
Go to
http://multilingual-joomla-demo.cloudac ... om_contact

after logging

If you have used falang, do not forget to change the driver to mysqli in Global configuration and delete all related plugins/modules

Well, I am not 100% sure I just copied the setup from the demo site and got it to work.

However, I do get this warning from Multilanguage Status:

Warning! A user/author should have only one contact to which is assigned language 'All' OR one contact for each published Content Language
Some of the contacts linked to the user CONTACT are incorrect.

Everything works but not sure what this is. I have not had time to look into it yet but when I do I will post it here.

Would you happen to know why this error is there?

Thanks!

They are incorrect because you do not have OR only ONE contact for this user set to language ALL, OR as many contacts as content language for the same user.

Can't explain better.

post a screen shot of your Contact manager

Ok great thanks worked it out. I thought I only needed one contact set to all and not the one I was having problems with.

Thanks for all your help!
