Can't display english

hello everyone ,

I am trying to translate a website to English which was originally designed to work only in German, at the beginning thought i would just duplicates everything and then translate it, but it didn't seem like a right way, so I restored a backup and made a separate categories and you know,,, I followed all the steps that should be followed,

now i am not able to see the English flag on the language switcher, only the German one, i am also not able to see the British flag on the English menu ( which i previously had) now i only see the word "English" when I set a page as a home page for the English language, i am really not sure what i have done wrong this time or how to fix this.
I included some picture for more clarification

Edit the content language for en-GB and change the image Prefix for the flag to `en`

Thank you very much for your fast reply,

I followed your instructions , and then looked up on the net about the correct setting, but I am still not able to get it to work, actually , the word "English" has disappeared" which tells me that we are on the right path but maybe not in the correct direction :P

anyway, here are some new screenshots

First make sure that you edit the Content Languages (including German) and save again in order to get the access column filled (normal is Public).
Then make sure the English main menu Home in English is set to Language English (as all menu items in that menu) and as Default home page.

Ok, Great , now everything is working pretty well, and to summarize what I had to do to fix it, just follow these two steps:

1st: Edit the content language for en-GB and change the image Prefix for the flag to `en` (it was en-UK)
2nd: make the English main menu Home in English is set to Language English (it went from English to Undefined, after applying the fist step )
