How to redirect traffic for a category URL
I have a url that looks like: www.mysite.com/category1/category2/xx.html
If someone manipulates the url and try to open www.mysite.com/category1/category2/ joomla deliveres a page that does not look good.
Is there any way I can redirect someone trying to open the www.mysite.com/category1/category2/ URL to lets say www.mysite.com?
Tried doing it manually in .htacces but it gets the site into a andless redirect loop. Also have sh404 installed but does not know how to set it up correct there.
Any help is appreciated!

Re: How to redirect traffic for a category URL
I believe you can setup custom redirects in SH404 so that when someone tries to access /category1/category2 , you could redirect it to a different URL.

Yes, probably. The only problem is that I don't know how to do it :-)
Does anyone here have a clue?

I'm not sure of what you want, BUT the REDIRECT command I know is:
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="0;URL=http://www.yoursite.com/FileName/">
<META HTTP-EQUIV="Refresh" CONTENT="0;URL=http://www.yoursite.com/FileName/">

This is not a good idea for this subject,
The best way is using SEO component like SH404 as "imarklee" mentioned

Either follow this guide: http://docs.joomla.org/Creating_a_Custom_404_Error_Page
Or find an extension that does it for you: http://extensions.joomla.org/extensions ... rror-pages
