What is the best option for a blog?

So I have several joomla websites (for business and for ministry) and I would like to add a blog.

I am wondering if it is better to add a blog into the website itself through a joomla blog extension or set up a wordpress blog and link it to the site (I can do all that myself) or if it's better to set up a blog on one of the more popular blogging platforms online and just link to it.

By better I mean as far as seo goes.

And, if an external blog, what are some good ones? Do any have the built in capacity to automatically update Facebook and twitter?

Kind of a personal decision here. Both platforms are very capable in the SEO department. Most important part of SEO is getting people to link to the content.

Posting unique and new contain in the blog is a good process to optimize a blog.

Word press is a good platform for blogging.As it gives you number of plugins options.

Its a personal choice on what platform you want to make your blog on.Both of them works well from seo prespective.And Writing a blog is a dainty task now a days because of so much competition for the keywords and unique content.Setting up a blog is not an issue but making them appear in the search engines is what its all about.I would say use unique title for your blog and add content which would keep the user engrossed.
