- The menu item displays fine, the article intro displays correctly in the blog layout, and the entire article if you click the readmore link.
Site owner didn't like the menu alias the way it appeared in the URL, so she changed it.
I instituted a redirect in the redirect manager from the old category blog URL to the new category blog url. This works just fine. All is candy and rainbows.
However, the OLD URL for the article layout (reached by the old readmore link) is still working. This is not good as it means there are two URLS for the same article.
I cannot find the old menu item alias in the database. Why does it still work?
mydomain.com/old-menu-item-alias/article-alias-id still works.
Since it still works, I can't redirect it to the correct alias.

How do I stop this from happening?
Where is Joomla finding the old alias in order to display this article?
And before you go suggesting your favorite SEF extension, this is not an option.
