Hey Ryan,
Thanks for clearing that up for me, I suspected that was the case, I'd still like to find out why all the redundancy..
I posted this since I'm having a problem with sh404sef. Originally it worked properly but for some reason it's not showing the social media graph images in the admin/backend area.
I did go to the support for sh404sef, their response to me was "I think your problem is cause by some wrong permissions on your website server, as if you`ll try to access directly those sh404sef images you`ll receive a server 500 error:
http://www.gdc-digitalservices.com/tmp/ ... eviews.png So I think you should contact your webhosting company and ask them about this"
I'm not very pleased with the answer and have made it known to them politely. But, I'm not at all familiar with all the aspects of .htaccess outside of the basics of renaming it from htaccess.txt to .htaccess if I want to use it.
I then went to my hosting company, Rochen, and they told me "In this context "public" means "accessible via HTTP through your browser", so that would still count as public access. I've checked your account and you are blocking public access to /tmp in that .htaccess file, thank you."
I wish I knew of a wiki or tutorial that went into depth over managing the server side of a joomla site since I'm somewhat clueless to it and really don't have or know of any good resources outside of this forum, which is where I've pretty much learned most of my stuff regarding joomla.
I'm open to any suggestions, I'm trying to interpret the responses from sh404sef and Rochen in order to figure out what to do next..?
