How to solve pagination - duplicate title pages

Hi,
I have one major problem that I'm unable to solve - As I use pagination of both my front page and categories I get a lot of duplicate title pages in google webmaster tools...
I have looked far and wide for solution and didn't find anything I'm sure about.

- Using robots.txt to block start: does this mean that those page are just noindex, or also nofollow? as my content is reached from those pages i would like to have "no-index, follow"
- add "no-index, follow" to the pagination links. sadly I didn't find a way to do it.
- Use an extension, the only one I found is SEO pagination, however it only support J2.5 and not J3.x so it is a short term solution.

Thanks for any help, this is a very frustrating "feature" of joomla... I'm surprised it still exists in J2.5 .. does J3.x fixes it?

Shortly, I would install sh404SEF or AceSEF. You should see what component has the latest plugin for your installed components. I know they are commercial, but I am sure you can fix things as you like.
