Edit main page template - problems with website

Hello,
I've ignored the message in Joomla Template Manager in Edit main page template
"Either the CodeMirror or the None editor plug-in should be enabled to edit template files".
So, I've changed height parameter of the footer, saved and the website stops working
I've changed that back but nothing helped... very weird.. may be you know how to deal with that problem?
In theory I have not changed anything, but the website is not working now

I used Kallyas template, not sure this is related to this forum, but I have a feeling that the problem should be pretty generic. Problem appears in front-end..
By now has used most of the stuff recommended to solve WSOD issues - plugins, modules turn offs etc.
Will try to do other things soon such as cleaning the cash in phpadmin, getting rid of whitespace at the end of a PHP file, etc..
Just annoying you know.. nothing has been changed in theory, but WSOD in practice.. because I even replaced the index.php I edited with the backup one..
