How can I change this ? In joomla 1.5 I knew from where to changed it but in 1.6 it doesn't seem to have any effect.

have you tired from home Menu parameters in right side...?

can you send website link.. there is no difference to change the 1.5 or 1.6 both are same...Might be your main title page appear from article , change there

Menu -> Click on Main Menu

Select the HOME entry

Edit the Menu Title. That's it.

If I do this , the title will change , but it also changes the name of "Home" which is the menu for the homepage..so it's not ok to change it from here.

I want in the menu to be "Home" but the name of the page to be something like "Your online...."

How can I do this ?

I installed joomla1.6 for you , ok follow these steps...

1- Open home menu
2- In right side parameters click on "Page Display Options"
3- Add your title in First filed " Browser page Title"
4- Select Yes Option in " Show Page Heading"
5- Save and enjoy ...
