articles intros in boxes ? how?

Just out of curiosity I would like to find out how I can list the articles, or articles intros in Joomla site. I preparing the template.

We have intro to the article, with or w/o read more text. I will have lot of short texts.

Now we have a sample page in a simple system which I enclose.

for example, I have draw three articles. All three are displayed under one another, each in a separate box adapted to its length.
I do not want to change the style for each item separately, I would like to somehow fit it in the template and configuration to ensure that the new article = new box adapted for the length of the article, Next after the box we can see a hole where we can see background completely. and next new box again a new article, again in a new box, etc.

I would like to define separate articles in separated boxes

Something like this can be done at all? Someone have any expirence?
