Header disappears while modifying template

I changed the header background color and when I did, the header disappeared. I went into the Header module and added the image back, but now I have a very narrow bar there (not even close to being big enough for the header) and it has the title, which is supposed to be hidden and the module manager says is.

Any ideas about what might be going on?

FYI, I guess it was a glitch. It wouldn't let me size the image, but later when I tried again it would and so I got it back. So my advice? Take a deep breath, get away from the computer for awhile or a day, come back and try it again with a clear head (in the morning for me). Maybe if you hold your mouth right, it will work!
