Cannot Change Default Style or Template

1. Fresh install of 2.5

2. Tried to simply change the default style with the star in the template manager. Two stars are now showing, which indicates that there are now two default templates.

3. There is no place in the extension manager where one can change the default template.

4. This is extremely frustrating that something so simple and should be flawless can be so bloody stupid.

5. It makes me want to run to a wordpress application.

Can someone please just give me a straight answer on why there is not a simple means of changing a default template? This is ridiculous.

Tim

The default template could be changed in the Template Manager.

Could you please post the screen shot that shows two stars?

I downloaded and installed a Joomla template. It then told me I cannot use it for commercial purposes and must pay 5 Euros, which I have done although nothing has changed and I still can't use it. However, this template appears as a default template. I now have 2 default templates and I can't get rid of either one.
Can somebody please tell me how to delete a default template? :'(

In the Template Manager, in the Styles tab, you would notice two default templates - one for the site and another for the administrator side.

Post a screen a shot so that others can see what you are talking about having 2 default templates.

Thanks for your reply. These are 2 pics of my screen, 1 showing the 2 default templates and l showing what happens when I click on Cimmanon template.
I hope you can see them clearly enough to understand.
Many thanks for your help.

As I have mentioned earlier, one of the default template is for the Administrator back-end and the other default template is for the Site.

As for as the usage of the template Cinnamon for the commercial use, you have to contact the template designer/company.

If you want to change the default template for the Site, in the tab style, choose the template identified as a site template, and click on the icon titled Default.

Thank you so much for your prompt reply. I contacted the template designer and they have sent me a new, useable template (the same one). However, I can't upload it as it says that this template is already in my system. So I want to actually delete the frist one from the system so I can upload the second, useable one.

Can you tell me how to actually delete a template?

I really appreciate your help.

Go to the Extensions Manager, click on the tab Manage, filter by Templates, choose the template to delete and click on the icon titled Delete.

Be informed that you cannot delete the template that is identified as a default template. So, the template you want to delete is the default template, in the Template Manager, in the tab Style, choose some other template's style as the default and then attempt the delete.

Thank you so much for your reply. I did what you suggested and although I can't delete it completely, I have managed to un-default it!

I very much appreciate your help and I'm so glad you're there.
