Beez5 resets main and error page template

Hi all, (this is my 1st post so I hope I adhere to forum regulations)

I have a website using Beez5 template. I wanted to make some changes, namely change the style of the letters (color and font) in the 'Site Description' and also change the big image ribbon under the site description (one that shows bananas, a man and the label 'enjoy fresh fruit').

I could not find any menu to do it, so I changed the php code ('Template Manager: Customise Template', and and then 'Edit main page template' and 'Edit error page template').

This works fine, exactly as I wish. But for some reason, the page is reset every now and then (it may happen after a week or after 3 months). I have to go and edit the php again, which is not problem, but until I notice it my page is in an unwanted state. Especially the image I do not want to have, I tried even erasing it from my host (hostgator) but when it is reset it seems that it loads it again.

Did anybody else have such a problem? Any solutions?

Did you update your Joomla site? Most of the time if you have updated your Joomla site, some of the files could be overwritten and those might overwrite your changes. It's ideal that if you are wanting to customize the look and feel of things, to get it done via CSS overrides instead.

no it does not happen when I update my site, it seems random.

Could you give some insight as to where I can apply CSS overrides ?

Copy the template to a new name. There is a button in Template Manager for this.
