CSS edit in back-end "Request - URI too long" message

Post by JudyAnn » Mon Oct 20, 2014 3:44 pm

This message is appear on some of our larger CSS files, when attempting to edit them in the Template Manager thru the back-end.

It doesn't matter if changes have been made with attempts to Save & Close, or if I was just looking at the CSS and tried to Cancel out of the editor - both will give the URI too long message.

Our server people say their research says to use Post instead of Get on these calls. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/2891 ... long-error

But this is core Joomla giving the error, so I cannot control that situation. Is there a solution for this problem?

This is especially a problem when using responsive templates such as Bootstrap or yoo_nano3.
