Filling in blank space on webpage

Can anyone tell me how to fill the white space either side of the header image on my website please? Either with a specific colour (other than white) or with another background image. Thanks

Thanks for the reply, where do I add it in the CSS file, anywhere in particular? Sorry I am still coming to grips with css
