Hello! I've been trying to install a new template on a brand-new Joomla installation. This is the third new installation I have tried and I keep getting this error:

JInstaller: :Install: File already exists C:\xampp\htdocs\testing\templates\propages-fjt\images\

These folders "propages-fjt\images\" do not exist. They cannot possibly exist because the Joomla installation is brand-new. It is about a minute old actually. Those folders are part of the template I am trying to install.

Does anyone know why I am getting this error? Is there an easy solution to fix this error? Do I need to get another template to use? Is there anyway that I can tell if a template is going to give me this problem?

Hello, Ryan! Sorry it took me so long to respond. I have been super busy.

Let me tell you exactly what I'm doing. I have tried installing another template and the same thing happened. Still don't know why. When I installed MySQL and the Apache server, I get it exactly like the Joomla documents told me to. And that is through the xampp installation.

Also, I am running windows seven 64-bit. The Joomla version I'm running 2.5.5 and I tried it on 2.5.4 also and got the same results. The MySQL and the Apache should be the most recent versions although I do not know their version numbers at the moment.

The template I'm trying to install is a free template because I wanted to try it before I bought one. I tried more than one and got the same results.

I received another response from Humvee. He told me to install something called the Forum Post Assistant. I'm doing that right now.

Hello again! Also I wanted to tell you that I'm trying to run this in a PHP environment on my computer, not on the Internet! When I tried to install the Forum Post Assistant, it didn't seem to work. I named my site I am experimenting with "Testing". So I tried using testing.com/fpa-en.php and that just took me to a testing.com website.

One more thing, when I installed the Joomla on my local host PHP environment inside the xampp/htdocs it worked perfectly. I just can't get the template to install or the Forum Post Assistant to work. Will it work on a local environment? Since the instructions say that the Forum Post Assistant will not work if the configuration.php file has been moved to another folder outside the web root folder, it will not work. My configuration.php file is still in the root folder and I tried putting the fpa-en.php file into the same folder as the configuration.php file. Is that the correct folder?

Hello Humvee! I got the Forum Post Assistant working properly now. In my previous post, I explained a lot about what I'm working with. Although, the part about the Forum Post Assistant does not need to be read now because it is working.
