Hi,

I need a plugin or code for disallowing a user to download a file (in my case a .pdf) unless they are registered with my site and logged in to the site. Is this something that a Joomla plugin will do, or do I need to hardcode it somewhere?

I second Per Yngve's recommendation. It will do exactly what you want. I have used Jan's extensions for a good while now and they are great. You can get to his site directly at http://www.phoca.cz. Check out his other extensions while you're at it.
