I've created a new website and want to control my template blocs from my joomla script plz can anyone help me??

I'm using joomla 2.5 and want to manage my blocs ''blocs are the smallest places within a template where your articles will be shown in'' generally they are small squares in a template

Ah you mean the Module positions. OK they need to be declared in the templateDetails.xml file.

The class/id of the div(that the module position) is given values in the css file(s). Also the classes/id's of divs (of the modules that are displayed in the positions) affect the 'look and feel'.

You said you "created a new website" when you probably meant that you 'created a Template'.

How much do you know about
  1. HTML
  2. divs
  3. nested divs
  4. PHP
    and
  5. CSS
???

How did you create the Template ???

oh not much but I thought joomla was simplified but it was not

I didn't create a template I meant I opened a website and installed joomla on it

It is not simplified but it is not difficult. I mistook what you meant. My bad.

So you do not want to edit the module positions of a Template ... you want to control the where the modules appear on the page. Is that correct ?

Perhaps http://docs.joomla.org/Finding_module_p ... given_page and http://docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_assig ... osition%3F may be what you need.

The links I gave you should help http://docs.joomla.org/Help17:Extension ... nager_Edit is more descriptive and applies to 2.5 as well. Don't know why they do not have it in the 2.5 help as well.
