Akeeba JPA Backup file unable to access on FileZilla

Post by Splendid1008 » Fri Oct 31, 2014 11:12 am

I have implemented Akeeba Backup for my site www.splendiddigitalsolutions.com. When I click Backup Now, I know the file is actually backed up which is not only confirmed by the success message but also the name of the backedup JPA file is visible on FileZilla search under Server, Remote File Search after entering the path /administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup. However, I could not locate the JPA file under backup (in fact the message below shows Empty Directory). Help in troubleshooting the same will be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

The output directory is decided automatically (using Configuration Wizard). I am not sure how the output directory is decided as there is no directory named Home or Content or 99//99/10511299/html/ although file named administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup is there. Also amazed if there is no directory named Home or Content or 99//99/10511299/html/, how the file is actually saved and where (is definitely saved somewhere confirmed by search under Server, Remote File Search after entering the path /administrator/components/com_akeeba/backup).

Check the File Ownership/Permissions. FTP may not have permission to the file.

Please use the Forum Post Assistant.

Yes, I could see the file through my hosting account. Can I continue the process through the hosting account instead of FTP? It is recommended in Akeeba Backup manual to use FTP. If not, how do I change the file permission? Thanks in advance.

From my hosting account, I could see the following permission:

General settings: Web visible-yes
Executable-yes

Advanced permissions
Web user permissions:

Read: Yes
Write: No
Execute (directory): yes

Owner permissions: Yes

Read: yes
Write: yes
Execute (directory): yes
