I was having the same problem last week with some code I had written with Jumi in Spanish. I didn't see anything wrong with Falang or Jumi compared to other components and what was in the database so I added utf8_encode() around the text that I called up from the database and it works fine now. Maybe you will have to override the template for the image you are calling up to add that around the text?

Falang not translating - Joomla 2.5.28

Post by mark4027 » Sun Jan 17, 2016 7:37 pm

I have installed FaLang for 2.5.28 and it seems to be working except I can't get any translations when I use the translator. The fields just stay blank regardless of the language I select.

The language selector is working and it changes the date and login popup to the selected language, and if I manually insert something into the translated fields it also tracks the language selector.

Any idea on what the problem might be would be appreciated.

Switch language via menu ietm

Post by Azmandius » Wed Mar 09, 2016 11:52 am

Hello,
I am on Joomla! 3.4.3, PHP 5.4.18 and Falang 2.2.2

Is it possible to create and use a simple menu item for switching languages of a currently open article/page?

I could create a link menu item and point it to /de of /it for example, but that would move me away from open article/page completely, to home page, which is not the best solution.

Thank you a lot!

UPDATE
Thanks a lot to tip from Stéphane
No it's not possible , but there are Template where you can put a module in the menu.
In my template, via embedded framework one can have modules in the menu! Happy!

Hello,
I am on Joomla! 3.4.3, PHP 5.4.18 and Falang 2.2.2.

I would like to report a bug, or it could be my template problem.
When i translate an article and click the TinyMCE's "Read More" button i get reverted to administration panel homepage, and no read more tag inserted into article.

Actually none of buttons work properly.

Did anyone have the same problem?

Thanks a lot!

I'm having problems with Falang and Foxcontact

When enabling error reporting I see this error:

Warning: Cannot modify header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/yjuatopq/domains/ozeindhoven.nl/public_html/administrator/components/com_falang/classes/FalangManager.class.php:1) in /home/yjuatopq/domains/ozeindhoven.nl/public_html/libraries/joomla/input/cookie.php on line 94

This causes a non functioning Foxcontact form

I updated recently to version 2.5.0 and after some work I get this error: "Fatal error: Call to undefined method translationFilter::translationFilter() in /home/.../administrator/components/com_falang/contentelements/translationDjc2fieldFilter.php on line 12"

Thank you for any help you can give.

Dear all,

I was hoping to get some support for Falang here. As I can tell, I have followed the documentation to the letter, but when clicking on the different langauge flags, the translated content does not change. Could someone please give me some pointers here??

The Language Switcher is set to Access of PUBLIC and Langauges to ALL
All of the original documents are set to Access of PUBLIC and Langauges to ALL
The translated articles and menus are PUBLISHED

The language switcher is visible on the website with flags for both German and French. Clicking on either of these does not change the content of the website.

Any help would be much appreciated...

Many thanks,

Alec

Hi guys,
last week we have purchased Falang and work great, but now I have a problem with K2 extrafields with "Show null option" set to YES in first language all work well in English the field is not displayed...

EXAMPLE
If I print in php the extrafield in my page i see the result array like:

First Language

1 - value
2 - value
3 - null ("show null option" set to yes)
4 - value

Second Language
1 - value
2 - value
4 - value

I dont see the third element
there is a solution for this problem?
thanks

Azmandius

The plugins System - FaLang Quick Jump and System and FaLang Database Driver are published and set to an access level of public.

The module FaLang Language Switcher and System - Language Filter are published and set to an access level of public.

I just cannot see what I am missing.....

Any further help would much be appreciated.

What Joomla version?
Did you try experimenting with some regular language switcher module positions, like left side or right? It happened to me before that publishing it to wrong position would make the module displayable only, but not functional.
Also i assume you already have translated content you are trying to switch to, right? :))

Azmandius

Thanks so much for getting back. The Joomla version is 3.5.0 Stable. I have tried every position from menu, search, logo, main top etc, but no difference. The switcher displays on all, but does not switch the language.

I have published translated content as an article and menu.

Any other suggestions ?? :-)

Cheers, Alec

When you click on flag does the language prefix change in the URL? Is the flag interpreted as a clickable link? Does the flag change?
Can i have a look at the site?

If you did all correctly it might be needed to turn on error reporting to see what's up.

Have you tried to contact the author of component?

Hi,
does some of you experienced this weird behavior of the languages switching completely opposite? I click MK and I get English version of the MENU only, then I click EN I get the Macedonian version of the menu. The content is ok, but the menu is opposite.

Thanks,
Gorast

Is all correct in the Content section of Language Manager?
What Joomla?
Is the System - Language Code plugin disabled? If no, it should.

Everything was fine till this morning :)
I updated Joomla to 3.6.1.

Content section is as I do on all of my sites, Language Code disabled also.

http://manaki.gorast.com check the link and click the box on the right top and you'll see the weird thing.

Thanks,

So the issue arisen after updating to last version of Joomla?
Wouldn't hurt mentioning that in the question.

If so, how about removing Falang, going to download site, checking the version compatible with your Joomla, downloading and installing it? :)

And by the way, if you pay attention to the FILM IS BEAUTIFUL block, the language button works fine. So i don't really see the issue.
