Extension for filesharing with permissions on user level?

Hello everyone,

I'm looking for the best extension to share documents with my users. One requirement is that I can set permissions on a user level. Is there a (preferably free) extension that can do this? I found Docman, but this one is not free. Thanks!

Update: Forgot to say that it should be compatible with joomla 2.5
