Great extension and working fine!

But... when I search it only goes through the default language content, not the translated content.

Am I missing something obvious to turn it on?

Good job! It'd be nice to translate URLs as well.

Tip: to add new content elements, I've found out the JoomFish files may work if you replace joomfish with falang in the xml file.

Hi,

I ran into a problem when the translated title had a special character:

Les fôrets et le changement climatique

No matter what I did, the translated content wouldn't save. I finally changed the title to this:

Les fôrets et le changement climatique

i.e. I replaced the special character with ô and then I was able to save the changes. However, when I saved, Joomla stripped out the special character code and changed the title back to "Les fôrets et le changement climatique". This means every time I edit that page I need to manually change the title.

Is this a bug with Falanag? Joomla? Or are there some language/special character settings somewhere I need to change?

Thanks!

I am interested too.

Me too and I got a solution to get the URLs translated (see http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f ... 0#p2800772, but unfortunately after this the language switcher module doesn't work anymore. And I got no solution for that...

So if anyone could't help, I'd appreciate it!

Hi,

Yes like this it's work, i have done a specific language switcher. But actullay it's redirect to the homepage.

You can have translated url's with joomsef > 4.2.6 and probably sh404 (I need to make more test)

I'm looking for a solution for this , it's usefull when you migrate a site from joomla 1.5 to 2.5

It is possible to translate Phoca Gallery - Images with Falang? In particular Image-Title and Image-Description.

I have the same issue as below. I need to be able to edit from the front end as some users will not have access to the back end and it is much simpler for non-joomla users to just change the language and edit the article.

MySQL Troubles with FaLang

Post by satarielxx » Fri Jun 15, 2012 1:25 pm

Hi there,

i use Joomla 2.5 and i installed FaLang. When i activate the FaLang Driver i get following error message on the site:

You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MySQL server version for the right syntax to use near 'AND falang_content.published=1 AND falang_content.reference_id IN(23) AND ' at line 4 SQL=SELECT falang_content.reference_field, falang_content.value, falang_content.reference_id, falang_content.original_value FROM bcl6e_falang_content AS falang_content WHERE falang_content.language_id= AND falang_content.published=1 AND falang_content.reference_id IN(23) AND falang_content.reference_table='content'

Any Soluiton for that??

Thx and BR ;)

Hi,

I have installed falang and it's working fine with contents, modules, menus and categories translations. I have also installed the k2 content elements pack and it's working fine for k2 items. However, for k2 categories it's still showing the default language text and not the translation. For the default language, I have the k2 categories with All (and not English) but I have also tried changing from All to English but nothing changed. Not sure what's the issue.

I will appreciate any assistance on this.

Tasos

@satarielxx,
You need to read all the documentation !!
Falang is based on Joomla default language system. You need to have the same site language and content language
Extensions/Language Manager/Content

@tasos7
I think it's work fine , I need to have a look on a test site.

i Stephane,

I am attaching the content element xml file for k2_categories but I am not sure whether this is the issue.

I also have on the site the K2_Easy Filter module, which also shows the K2 categories on a list. If you see in link (also attached), the k2 category on K2 easy filter module shows the greek text but in the actual page, it's still showing the English one.

Do you have an idea why?

Do you need me to give you access to anything?

Regards,
Tasos

Hi Stéphane,

i'm having problem with one of the language images, i have three languages enabled and two of them show properly, but the third one is without image. When i open the source for the english in the src i see "/site/media/mod_falang/images/en.gif" but for the other language there is only "/site/". Any idea what might be the problem? other than that everything else is working fine.

cheers

Hello Stéphane,
Thank you for your effort, Falang is helped me a lot.
I am working with the Falang Basic version, joomla V2.5.1, published 2 languages: French and Chinese

My problem is, when the default system cache( whether conservative or progressive) is turning on,these language switcher will not work properly, they will always take visitors jump back to home page no matter where you are.

For exemple, i am browsing a web page in frech:
http://www.site.com/index.php/fr/exemple-page
after clicked the chinese language switcher, normally, I should be redirected to this page:
http://www.site.com/index.php/zh/exemple-page
or stay where i am if clicked the frech switcher.
But in fact, I was taken to the home page:
http://www.site.com/index.php/zh/
or
http://www.site.com/index.php/fr/

If I turn off the default system cache, everything will be back to normal.
Also, if I remember correctly, the free version seems to not have this problem.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hello,

i'm under a huge stress.

My Joomla! 2.5.5 Stable website mention that an update was available to my Portuguese Language, and i did execute this update.

Since then Falang does not show the translations of the menus and contents that are available, only showing the default language English (uk).
Both Language Plugins are enable.

I use Falang Basic 1.1.4 and i've seen that an update is available but i cannot find the way to download the update (only see "Add to Cart") when i login with my account at http://www.faboba.com/en/composants/falang/donwload.

Can you help me asap, please?

Ok, i've found it.

Falang 1.1.5 installed but not 100% operational on Joomla 2.5.5 with Yootheme Widgetkit.
Lots of jquery errors on the secondary site language prevent the correct loading of the webpages.
