Sitemap using Xmap : menu titles are not displayed

Post by cmils » Mon Nov 05, 2012 4:52 pm

Hi,

My Xmap 2.3.0 sitemap works fine on my Joomla 2.5.7 site, except that the menu titles are not displayed. I checked the source code, and <h2> tags are there at the place where the titles should be, but empty :

Code: Select all

<h2 class="menutitle"></h2>
Of course, I asked for the display of the menu titles in the Xmap options.
It this a bug ? Any idea on how I can solve this ? Xmap being almost the only free xmap extension, I don't have much choice.

Thanks
Corinne

The setting in the Admin component xmap edit screen has no effect on my site front end. but click to view the map it opens http://www.site.com/component/xmap/xml. ... howtitle=1

Click the 'login link and you get a login page ... login and you get redirected back to http://www.site.com/component/xmap/xml. ... howtitle=1
122.JPG
You can then see a box to tick(check).

I have no idea what the backend setting is for ... perhaps ask the in their forum http://joomla.vargas.co.cr/en/forum or read the documentation ? http://joomla.vargas.co.cr/en/documentation/18-xmap-2

Or perhaps do what I just did ... use my eyes and read the information on the page.

Addendum
The settings in Components xmap edit screen are for the html sitemap that is displayed when a menu item(item type xmap) is clicked.

The xml sitemap (the one that is given to search engines) has its settings when viewed from the front end while logged in as admin http://www.site.com/component/xmap/xml. ... howtitle=1
You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

Well, it only has effect on the XML sitemap, not on the html map displayed on the frontend when the user clicks on a "sitemap" link in a menu.

For the record, I was able to fix it by creating a module for the menu. NOTE: The title for the module is used for the menu title in sitemap. Displaying the menu on frontend is not necessary, you can live the position empty. Thanks

We have found a solution...You need to install mapx plugin instead Xmap...and it will work and it will show the title on sitemap page. All you need to link your article with this one instead xmap to mapx ....Good Luck!

You can download plugin from here : https://www.z-index.net/en/joomla-xmap/ ... oaded.html

xmap is no longer. An excellent alternative is http://extensions.joomla.org/extension/osmap and their support is fantastic
