Welcome to the Joomla forum!

Generally, if you point your browser to the place where you uploaded the Joomla files, it will just automatically run the installer.

What happens when you do go to your webspace? Do you get any screen or error at all?

You could also try going to http://mywebspace.com/installation and see if that finds the installer.

Let us know how it goes. We'll get you going!

And again, welcome to Joomla and the Joomla forum.

When you say, all of the files are on there ... how are you accessing your files?

Are you using an FTP program ... or perhaps through your hosting control panel file manager?

And (if you can tell) what is the full "path" name to the files?

For example, on my server, it is often something like /home/john/public_html ... but this varies from server to server.

I am accessing the files through the control panel on One.com, I have uploaded the files using Dreamweaver as FTP.

When i go into the control panel, the installation file seems to be in joomla/installation, does that make sense, I am starting to get very confused! :'(

Hmmm. I can understand your confusion.

We just have to figure out the right path to these file.

I wonder if they might be one level above the public_html or htdocs folder (which is the root of the public side of your server).

Can you tell me the folders that are above your /joomla/installation folder?

This is the folder that I uploaded, Joomla_2-3. There are no other folders above it

Think I have solved it, I spoke to the web hosts and they told me to navigate to www.theweddingwagon.co.uk/joomla_2-3/index.php and it worked! The installation page appeared. Not sure i would ever have worked that out. thanks so much for trying to help me though, I am sure I will be back soon with more issues :-[

I'm glad that you were able to find the installation folder.

By the way, you can rename that folder by using your FTP program if you would like ... to something a bit more simple.

If you do, though, you need to make 2 minor changes in your site Global Configuration ... the location of the "tmp" folder and the location of the "log" folder.

You would simply adjust them to the new folder name.

But I'm glad you are moving forward now.
