Hi there,

I am familiar with Joomla, but I have never set up the website from scratch and I just ran into some strange problems.

I did the browser installation for Joomla 2.5 and connected it to a database and all that.
I had to manually upload the php file by just copying it and uploading it as the configuration.php file to the directory.

But now for some reason, my back end and administration is working fine but I can't visit my Front page. It still has the first site on that says "To change this page, upload your website into the public_html directory"

Any idea how to solve this?

What happens when you type your-site-url/index.php in the browser's address bar?

I believe that there is a file named index.htm or index.html in the directory where Joomla! is installed/copied. Rename this file and see what happens.

Thank you for getting back to me.

Yes the my-site.php works just fine, but if I rename my file it still shows up with the same original window.

Did I have to change the index.htm file in the directory where also Joomla is ? Or did you mean another index.htm file.

I did only change the index.htm that in the same directory as joomla.

What is your site's URL?

Is there any other file that has the extension .htm or .html in the directory where Joomla! is installed/copied?

The site is www.nzinsuranceadvisors.co.nz

and the only other files apart from the Joomla ones are a couple of these 400.shtml.

I hope that helps :)

Reviewed the site and it looks like you have taken care of the issue. I could see your site built using Joomla!
