Hi
I wonder if there is a reason why I can't connect to my SQL Database. I've recently uploaded it and am Configuring it. The database is there and called imagine, but I'm getting an error message that says "Undefined Index Query String in /hermes/bosweb/web26u4/b2463/ipg.buyatimeshareorg/imagine/libraries/joomla/environment/uri.php line 142
Its Vers 1.6.3 and my Domain points to www.canuimagine.org.uk/imagine
Thanks
Robert

Re: Cannot connect my Joomla to the MySQL Database
do you have the correct database name configured in the configuration.php, some host prefix the dB names that you enter with your hosting account name also.
Did all the Joomla! files upload to the server correctly?
If you search the forum, you will find many other posts on this and similar topics with many different idea's of things to try.

Re: Cannot connect my Joomla to the MySQL Database
Thanks. Is the file that is in the Installation Directory called configuration.php-dist
Maybe this needs to be told somewhere in it, that the directory for the install should be \imagine and this is a directory off the root.?

Re: Cannot connect my Joomla to the MySQL Database
no, that is an example file, when you ran the Joomla! installer, you would have entered a bunch of information, that would have been entered in to a new file named configuration.php (in the "/" folder. same place the Joomla! index.php is) If the installer couldn't make this file for you, it would have given you instructions on how to make it and given you all the information to copy in to it.

Re: Cannot connect my Joomla to the MySQL Database
from what i can see from your URL, you haven't installed Joomla! yet.... ( http://docs.joomla.org/Beginners )
and maybe, when you FTP'd all the files to the server, some got corrupted, re-FTP all the files back up to the server, ensuring over-write existing files is set.

Re: Cannot connect my Joomla to the MySQL Database
My host company just wrote and said they've completed it for me.
Well, great, but when I now go to www.canuimagine.org.uk and I put in the admin and password he gave me, I can't do anything at all. I would have thought I should be seeing an Admin Panel.
This is all weird! Does anyone know why.??
Is it to do with the fact that I've already got another joomla site! Thats at www.holidayauctions.org.uk and this was set up for me. I want to try and do this other one on my own.
Thanks

Re: Cannot connect my Joomla to the MySQL Database
Whoa...I found the admin Module now. Sorry about that.
I'll get off now and start learning, and search the forums for help when I'm stuck.
Ciao!
