Installation doesn't finisch

Hi,

I try to install Joomla 1.7 on a Windows Server.
Everything looks fine, but ...

When it comes to the CONFIGURATION screen,I enter the website name, my email etc, and then I see the "wait circle" running, and it goes on and one, and never stops.

When I look on my server, I see the database is created, the example data is there, everything looks fine.

Maybe someone knows where I have to look to solve this ?

I too am having the exact same problem minus I'm on GoDaddy economy hosting. I'm hanging at the Step 9 configuration screen. I checked mySQL database, but everything seems normal there.

I have pretty much the same setup as OP. I am using phpmysqladmin as well.

Same issue here. similar configuration, It installs sample data to the database but wont get past the configuration step. It just gives me the page back as if I never clicked next.

I figured it out, after an hour of searching forums, google, and trying different things. I looked for configuration.php which was not embedded in the server. It end's up being your folder permissions.

The main folder you put all your Joomla 1.7.3 files requires the right set of permissions for Joomla to finish and configure the Installation process in which case it will automatically create configuration.php in your Joomla main folder so you should see Path/configuration.php when Step 6 Configuration process occurs. After Step 6 you have to remove your Installation folder and after that everything should work fine and dandy. Make sure your mySQL database has been populated in the table prefix. I double-checked any errors in Step 4 which may cause a "Loading Circle" loop in Step 6 Configuration.

Hope this helps, best advice I can give is be tenacious in your searches. Keep reading, it will help find an answer somehow.
