Hi,

I have moved a site from our development server to live domain name, I used Akeeba back up and have done this hundreds of times with Joomla 1.5, so I didnt think there would be any issues.

So I have downloaded the .jpa file and uploaded to the new server, extracted via kickstart.php and the whole site extracts and installs, but as soon as I go to the URL I get the following error message:

500 - JDatabase::getInstance: Could not connect to database
joomla.library: 2 - Could not connect to MySQL.
You may not be able to visit this page because of:

an out-of-date bookmark/favourite
a search engine that has an out-of-date listing for this site
a mistyped address
you have no access to this page
The requested resource was not found.
An error has occurred while processing your request.
Please try one of the following pages:

Home Page
If difficulties persist, please contact the System Administrator of this site and report the error below..

JDatabase::getInstance: Could not connect to database
joomla.library: 2 - Could not connect to MySQL.

I checked the configuration.php file and the DB connections are all correct, db names user name and passwords etc.

Has anyone come across this or found a solution?

Please advise

Kind regards
Alan

Please run the Forum post Assistant to provide the information to help us try and resolve the issue.

Have you ensured that the database users that you are using in MySQL have full permissions?

I found the issue in a Mod that was pulling in a word press blog. Because I could still access the administrator section of the site, I went through and unpublished modules one by one and found the issue to be a module "wpposts".

So Try to unpublish module from the site administrator.

I had forgot to move the Wordpress database and now the module that is supposed to display "latest posts" or similar is failing and bringing down the site.

Kind regards
Alan
