Does anyone know of a web hosting company that will allow Joomla 2.5 to be installed using MSSQL without having a virtual server? I am wondering if this can be done on a shared hosting windows plan.

Short of asking hosting companies it's difficult to say especially when we don't know which country you are in!

Apologies. I'm in the US. I'm just wondering if anyone has had any success using this setup yet with a hosting company.

GoDaddy offers Windows based hosting using MSSQL, however their MSSQL databases are limited to 200MB each

@Probie715

That's who I currently use, however you can't use GoDaddy shared hosting with MSSQL and Joomla 2.5. Here is the response I got last night from GoDaddy:

"After reviewing the issue with our hosting techs, it looks like the restrictions put on MSSQL in the shared environment will prevent you from using Joomla with MSSQL. You would need a Virtual Dedicated or Dedicated server plan to be able to get Joomla installed properly.

Did they let you know what specifically about J2.5 and MSSql does not "play well" with their shared hosting environment?

Sorry for the delay. I was trying to figure out a work around to get Joomla to work after I saw your post at:
