Was just wondering which server software is the most prefered for Joomla

XAMP Wamp or ???

Both of them are equally good.

However, WAMP Server has the ability to mix and match different versions of Apache, MySQL, and PHP. So, you could easily mimic the Joomla! operating environment fo the host server. From that angle, it is flexible than XAMPP.
