Akeeba Restored a working joomla site not working.

Post by cmoua » Thu May 10, 2012 5:54 pm

I'm in the process of duplicating a site and it's coming up blank... Any ideas friends?

I used Akeeba Backup and kickstart for restore... Everything went well, restoration was fine.

Progress:

1. I created a new MySQL db, new un/pw, associate to db with full access
2. during kickstart restore - modified the db settings
3. verified configuration.php.

Everything seems perfect, but site opens a blank white page. I can't access the administrator portal as well, no front or backend access.

Any idea's?

Thank you for your assistance.

can you access the apache log files.

Something is generating an error, php has display errors turned off. So you get a white wall.

We need to see what the error is to guess at how to fix it.

I contacted the host to enable mod_rewrite - this sometimes cause it to blank. I'll get my hands on the logs to determine what's the issue :)

Thanks Nicholash for the reply.

Sorry forgot to mention that the restore from:

http://www.domain.com --> help.domain.com

I'm not sure if that makes a difference?

Our original site was made with SSL enabled and valid certificate. By duplicating it, we were going to isolate our application off from the contents and info.

Someone installed an SSL force plugin which caused a loop to force SSL on a non-SSL site. Came up with a blank site error 404, logs didn't give out any info on this... Had to review all the Extensions, Modules, and Plugins for SSL.

Wasted 2 days of production on this simple plugin... I'm glad we took care of it as well and working perfect now.
