HI,
I followed a tutorial on YouTube oploaded by nypgt96, see attached file or "Install Joomla 2.5.1 for Mac", to install Joomla 2.5.4 full package. When I'm to the point 07.10min. in the tutorial where I have to choose language, the page comes out wrong/cracked/insufficient(a button, two lines and blank) as comparison to the tutorial, and I cannot get passed that point. I have tried pressing the button and changing the language settings from Danish to English in MAMP but the page still comes out the same.
Cheers

[Mod note: Moved from General Forum to Installation Forum;]

When you unarchived the Joomla package did you do this so that it unpacked into a subdirectory for example MAMP/htdocs/joomla or have you tried putting it directly into the htdocs directory?

Do not unpack Joomla first and then move it to its subdirectory. Extract directly to the
MAMP/htdocs/joomla directory.

Try downloading a fresh copy of Joomla and try again (make sure you get the full package and not the update ;) 0

Hi,

First of all thanks for being on top of things.

I am new to Joomla & haven't got any experience in programming. I want to compose the software around Joomla so that I can moderate the traffic as well as the security and make it top nudge.
I have rented a VPS. I have noticed that the SSH providers certificate is out of date, I don't know if it poses any problems, I think it could theoretically cause a legal issues. Parrallels Power Panel, devel(Development Tools for Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 EZ Template), locale-eu-st(locale-eu-st for debian-6.0-x86 Virtuozzo template), mysql(MySQL for Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 EZ Template), php(PHP for Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 EZ Template), proftpd(Proftpd for Debian GNU/Linux 6.0 EZ Template), were pre installed. What software do you recommend I install on the VPS to run a hassle free web shop as well as a blog using Flash or other interactive software?

Any other advice?

Sorry but your question was about installing Joomla on the Mac/MAM combination why are you now asking about everything to do with a VPS hosted site that is completely unrelated?

Has your initial issue been resolved? I assume so given more than a month has elapsed since your last contact.

If it has then you should start a new thread in the General Forum for your latest questions.
