Hi. I have always worked with Dreamwaver but now I need to learn CMS. I am very new to joomla and have no idea how this works. I am watching lynda.com's joomla 1.6 essential training to learn how to use joomla. I have installed xamp and it is working fine but when I try to install joomla I get error on the 2nd step of the installation. I followed the training video step by step and done everything right and the training does not cover installation issues.

This is the error I get...

(configuration.php Writeable No
You can still continue the installation as the configuration settings will be displayed at the end. You will have to manually upload the code. Click in the text area to highlight all of the code and then paste into a new text file. Name this file 'configuration.php' and upload it to your site root folder. )

I clicked on next to and finished the installation but when i lunch the site I get on error. ”No configuration file found and no installation code available. Exiting...”

Now I copied the php code form joomla but don't know where to save it.

Please help if you can...

I am using Mac OS X 10.7.2
and my web host is 1and1.com (on their website they say that they fully suport joomla)
