IIS 6 vs. IIS 7

Post by ayrehead » Sat Mar 24, 2012 4:41 pm

This forum is more appropriate for my post, so I am moving it from a different forum to here.

My website has 1.5.23 and is hosted on a Windows server with Microsoft IIS 6. I want to migrate to 2.5.x, but its technical Requirements say IIS 7 minimum. The technician at the host says they are unable to provide IIS 7. Is there a way I can have 2.5.x with IIS 6?

The requirements are on the page called Technical Requirements:
http://www.joomla.org/about-joomla/tech ... ments.html

It definitely says Microsoft IIS Minimum is 7.

So my question still is:
Is there a way I can have 2.5.x with IIS 6?
