I added two articles to my site yesterday, went to sleep the super-user admin was timed out. On trying to log on today this is the error I am encountering: You do not have access to the administrator section of this site.

I am suing Joomla 2.5 (the latest version). I have searched in the forum for a solution but to no avail, please help we run an online paper and the updates are crucial. I do not have a backup, there is a lot of work involved so I cannot even consider a clean install.

I have access to my host account and msql via phpadmin. Please help!

1. At the end of this process take a backup and promise yourself that you will make a backup every week at least. Doing anything else is just irresponsible

2. It sounds like you have adjusted soimething in the ACL and locked your user out. If you follow this http://docs.joomla.org/How_do_you_recov ... _and_later then you should be able to get back in

3. take a backup and promise yourself that you will make a backup every week at least. Doing anything else is just irresponsible

Thanks, I have tried the solution contained in the article but still it does not work, I have created a new super user in my database via phpadmin. But even the new super administrator does not work. Still displaying the same error: You do not have access to the administrator section of this site.

I can log in on the front end and even edit articles, but the back-end still blocked with the same error message: You do not have access to the administrator section of this site.

It was a really silly problem, just had clear cache on the chrome browser then viola I was in. Sorry for the inconvenience. I also did a back-up just in case! Thanks once again!
