How do I get the blog front page to show articles in the subcategories?

At the moment, I have a Main Category and I have Subcategory 1, Subcategory 2, Subcategory 3.

And I have no articles directly under the Main Category.

If the Blog menu item is pointing to the Main Category, how do I get all the articles that are in the subcategories to show on the front page of the Blog?

Edit the menu item for the required blog.

For Category Options, Subcategory Levels specify All

In Blog Category, Include Subcategories specify All

You should check the other options as you may need to change these to fit your requirements e.g. you may want the articles listed in category order or simply by article order or any of the other specified options.

I tried this and I could not get it to show the articles in the sub categories - only links to the sub-categories,
Although I don't have a Blog Category panel only a Blog layout Options panel?

The way I got articles in sub cats to show on the main category page is not to set it as a category blog.
1. Set menu as featured articles.
2. Select all the categories where you have articles you want displayed.
3. Set the articles you want to display as featured.
4. to prevent these articles showing on the Home page - select this menu option and change the category selection from all categories to only those you want to show. I did not want any so set it to uncategorised.

Not as simple as being a category blog!

I'm not clear what you are saying.

Are you selecting Category Blog or Category Items for your Menu Item?

What have you specified for Category Order?

I have something similar to you, check http://www.didim.me then Latest Additions

Is this what you want?

No problem - I found the option.

In the Blog layout options panel under this
"The option below gives the ability to include articles from subcategories in the Blog layout."

Thanks for that. Excellent.

I found that you have to choose "All" for subcategories and you also have to choose the number of levels of depth of the subcategories. You have to do both.
