After I set up a Contact Us page, it became the Home page. When I tried to make the "Home" Menu item the default page I got the following error:

"The home menu item must be a component."

Any thoughts?

I am having the same problem. Its is driving me nuts...Hopefully someone gets on here that knows the answer ):

Try to delete the Home menu item and create a new one.

I have the same problem with setting menu home as default, instead of main home page a have got about me page. I have tried to delete an create new menu home. But after that still can't change it to default.
Any help??

I solved this by setting the menu item to featured articles, and selected one article as featured. Then i was able to toggle a menu item as home.

This is a solution that worked for me.

Any type of menu item can be default except external url.
