Unknown or bad timezone (0) - Admin Login - then blank page

PHP 5.3 MySQL 5.5.8 Joomla 2.5.6

I had this error and would like to thank [user]mojito[/user] for pointing me in the right direction on the now locked topic 500 DateTimeZone::__construct() [datetimezone.--construct]

My configuration.php contained the line

var $offset = '0';

replacing this with

Code: Select all

var $offset = 'GMT';

solved my problem ! Woot!
