Email Notifications?

I have a Joomla 1.6 site that has multiple editors. I want to receive emails whenever new content is submitted to the site. Is there native Joomla functionality that will allow for this or an extension anyone would recommend? I found this extension that seems to do basically what I want, but it's not 1.6 compatible.

I have looked around quite a bit, so hopefully this question hasn't been asked over and over.

There is a plugin available there with this functions
