Global Configuration not showing correctly. I know I can edit on config.php but client will not be able too and they like to see global config for meta data etc.

NOTE: I reinstalled Joomla 2.5.9 via Admin Tools Component, really can not think why this has happened when Joomla files have been rewritten, all 3rd party software has been checked to make sure latest version available.

Really stumped as to what is causing this error. :-(

Same problem here. Happened after fresh install of Joomla and then simply checking the update and seeing 2.5.9 as an option to download. Mistake. After the "upgrade" global config saving through the interface is NON functional just like you. Did you ever figure out the fix on your own since no one here is answering you?

When you reinstall via Admin Tools it probably rewrites all the files except your configuration.php file because that is where all your config is stored. If it rewrote over that the site would not work.

Could you try to download a fresh copy of Joomla, extract it on your desktop and open the sample configuration.php file? Then also open your configuration file and look at them side-by-side.

Look for the lines that specify your database $host, $db name, $password, $dbprefix, and secret key. Change the values in the sample file to the values of your real configuration file. Save.

Then rename your current configuration.php file on the server (so you don't lose it). (Note, your site will go down here) Then upload the sample file. (Site should be back up).

Now try and go into Global Configuration and see if it works.

Lordonk, It would be quicker for me to copy another working config.php file from another working Joomla site on the same server and modify the database info in it then move it in there after renaming the current supposed broken file. Since the file shows writeable along with everything else in the admin interface I don't believe this will change anything. I can also edit the file directly on the server and save changes without getting read only errors but I will let you know for sure once I have done it.
