Re: Problem In Joomla When Installing An Extension
Some extensions have a single zip file which contains other zip files that are version specific. For example, one zip file for Joomla 1.5 and another for Joomla 2.5. Try unzipping the file and see if this is the case.

Re: Problem In Joomla When Installing An Extension
Hi Markstein.
I unzipped that zip file and there were no other zip files in it. The Files were there and it is a 2.5 extension or component. I tried installing other components and none worked.
I also looked at other posts with issues of not being able install issues like me and tried everything they said and anything I could think of too.
Do you have any more suggestions to get these installed and solved?

Re: Problem In Joomla When Installing An Extension
Hi All.
I have seen others have had problems installing components and extensions from the back office. I had no problems previously and since this message I have had problems ever since.
Anyone who can maybe assist me with this. Maybe step me through until I finally get them working again.
I have tried a number of things in order to get them working.
From changing permissions on the directories. enabling and disabling ftp layer. One thing I need to try is changing the php.ini to enable session autostart to true. I have to wait on my admin in order to do that. You guys know if that might solve it? I think it may. Someone suggested that might do it. I have tried a number of things I could find from other posts. Anybody who thinks they might be able to step me through this so I can mark these messages as Solved. Much Thanks.
Hope to be problem solving with you soon.
Take Care All and Thank You for taking the time to read this.

Re: Problem In Joomla When Installing An Extension
Have a look at this page:
http://docs.joomla.org/Why_can%27t_you_ ... ensions%3F
Also you can try the "Install from directory" option when installing an extension.
http://docs.joomla.org/Installing_an_extension
I would also use the forum post assistant which will help others see if there are any potential issues.
