Hi all, New here so I'm hoping I can find some help to get my site back up. A while back I was asked to create a site for a local organization & was given login information for Mac Highway web Hosting. All had been going well up until Friday when my site crashed and I have been at a loss ever since. I uninstalled/reinstalled joomla 2.5, and deleted/created a new MYSQL database, reinstalled Joomla 2.5, and now I'm getting a "connection timed out/Connection reset.. The connection was reset while the page was loading" error when I try to upload the template I was using.

I called my hosting company, and they said that the issue is most likely because there have been multiple uninstalls/re-installs of Joomla, but if its a connection error preventing an upload, wouldn't it be a server error, rather than something to do with installation of Joomla? (FTP settings in Joomla seem to be correct)

I generated a full backup of the site, (through my hosting company's CPanel) & its sitting right on my desktop ready to be restored, but I am at a loss as to how to do it, there is no restore option through the CPanel?? How am I supposed to restore this thing if they don't provide the option to do so?

Mac Highway says that they can only dig into my files if my issue is caused by a "legitimate server error". They seem to believe it has something to do with installation of Joomla.

Can someone PLEASE give me some ideas as to what to do to fix this issue?? My hosting company said they advised against wiping my web space clean & starting from scratch, & even if I wanted to do it that way, I wouldn't necessarily know how.

I thought I had backed up using Akeeba backup as well, but I went to use akeeba Quickstart, and for some reason i got an error while trying to restore that way as well, so like I said, I'm at a loss at this point.

If there are remnants of old joomla installations causing this issue, how would I go about totally removing those & starting over? Any help would be greatly appreciated My hosting company told me to post here as everyone here is more expert at this than I am, so I'm really hoping for some help, in as simple terms as possible to get my site back up & running. Thanks again, -Bob
