Desperately Needing to launch our New site

Post by davidheath » Thu Aug 15, 2013 9:04 pm

We are dead in the water and took down our old site to put up the new site and we hit this error.

The problem is when a "registered" user tries to login they get an error "You cannot access the private section of this site".

The site is on Joomla 2.5.14
PHP 5.4.17
Template: Rocket Theme - Zephyr

I have searched Google & Joomla forums and found MANY posts about this. Most of the people reporting this issue have had it after an upgrade or migration. I did up grade it last week from 2.5.11 and there were NO database errors showing in the Joomla CP under Extensions/Database.

This is what we have tried with no luck:
Here - http://forum.joomla.org/viewtopic.php?f=710&t=805711

We tried Beez 20 template with no change

We have tried disabling most extensions with no change

Extensions:
Akeeba
AWO Affiliate
AWO Coupon
AWO Referral
EasyBlog
FlexiContact Plus
Fomr2Content Pro & Search
Imgen
Invoices
JCE Editor
Komento
Remarkety Connector for VM
Unite Revolution Slideshow
Virtuemart 2.0.20b
Virtuemart AIO
VM2 Wishlists
Watchfulli
Webgility

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!

David

1)Have you checked the user manager if they are all activated/enabled?
2)Is the site offline and have you allowed registered users offline access?
3)Have you changed anything in the ACL settings recently?

Try disabling all third party modules, plugins, and components temporary to see if anything is interfering or incompatible with Joomla, something could be firing during login/authentication?

PS You need at least one authentication plugin enabled, so make sure your Joomla one is if you have 3rd party authentication plugins.
I like working with Joomla :). I offer the following professional services: Custom extension development, SEO/marketing, maintenance/support, security and WCAG audits, and will work on websites at a reasonable rate.

Thank you for your quick reply!

We have tried fixing the assets table with no luck. That was on the link I posted earlier. We have also purchased and installed ACL Manager, run the fixes through it and no change.

Yes, we have tried disabling pretty much all of the extensions, so far no luck.

Authentication - Joomla is enabled.

Any other thoughts?

Thanks again!
